In what seems to be a landmark judgement, a fast-track court in Hyderabad sentenced Beemana Rajani Kumar to 20 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting an LKG student.
The incident created havoc in Hyderabad in October last year. Rajani Kumar (aged 34), working as a principal S. Madhavi’s driver at DAV Public School in Banjara Hills, allegedly raped the four-year-old girl. S Madhavi was also arrested for her negligence, however, the court acquitted her.
The incident sparked widespread protests all over the city, with parents and students demanding the removal of the school’s recognition.
