Is Nani part of LCU?
Telugu actor Nani is getting ready for the release of his latest movie, HIT: The Third Case, which hits theatres on May 1, 2025. In a recent exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, he shared his thoughts on working in cinematic universes and the possibility of joining Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe).
Nani said that cinematic universes are an exciting concept, especially inspired by Western movies. He praised directors like Lokesh Kanagaraj and Prasanth Varma for creating such universes in Indian cinema. According to Nani, any idea that excites audiences and makes them come to theatres is good for the film industry.
When asked about being a part of any cinematic universe, Nani said he is already involved in one – the HIT universe. So, he may not join Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. However, he expressed a strong interest in working with Lokesh Kanagaraj in the future, saying he is a big fan of his work.
Nani also mentioned that he is open to acting in Hindi films if the right opportunity comes along.
The LCU began with the movie Kaithi, starring Karthi, and grew with successful films like Vikram and Leo. Fans are now waiting to see which new actors might join future LCU projects.
Meanwhile, HIT: The Third Case stars Nani as Arjun Sarkaar, a tough cop trying to solve a string of murders. The movie also features Srinidhi Shetty, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and others. Nani will also appear in The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela.
