This year was fantastic for movie fans as many films set new records at the box office. From ‘Pathaan’ to ‘Animal,’ the film industry experienced a surge in blockbuster hits.

1. Jawan

Shah Rukh Khan stars in this action-packed thriller, making ₹1,148 crore worldwide. Directed by Atlee, it’s Atlee’s debut in Hindi cinema. The movie, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, follows SRK in a dual role as a father and son fighting against corruption.

2. Gadar 2

Sunny Deol’s historical action drama earned around Rs 520 crore, becoming a major hit.

3. Pathaan

Another Shah Rukh Khan movie, ‘Pathaan,’ grossed ₹1,050 crore globally. Directed by Siddharth Anand, it’s part of the YRF Spy Universe, focusing on an exiled RAW agent’s mission against a former agent’s plot to attack India.

4. Jailer

Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ earned ₹607–610 crore worldwide. The story revolves around a retired jailer pursuing an eccentric idol smuggler.

5. Leo

Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Leo’ earned ₹605.25–620.50 crore globally and is still running in theaters. This Tamil-action thriller follows Parthi, a café owner chased by gangsters who mistake his identity.

6. Animal

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ made ₹527.6 crore worldwide. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it’s an action drama where the protagonist seeks revenge for an assassination attempt on his father.

7. Tiger 3

Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ grossed ₹462.73 crore globally. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, it follows RAW agent Tiger and ISI agent Zoya trying to clear their names and rescue their son.

8. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ earned ₹355.61 crore worldwide. Directed by Karan Johar, it portrays a couple with different personalities choosing to live with each other’s families before marriage.

9. Adipurush

Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’ made ₹353–450 crore worldwide. A mythological action movie based on the Ramayana, it’s one of India’s most expensive films.

10. Ponniyin Selvan: II

Vikram’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan: II’ grossed ₹350 crore globally. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this Tamil epic historical drama is a direct sequel to its predecessor based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel.
