The Padma awards have finally been announced and there were not many film personalities who managed to win the recognition which went mostly to sportsperson. But one among them was legendary singer Yesudas from the Malayalam film industry.
He has been conferred with the Padma Vibhushan award by the gilovernment of India. Yesudas has won the National Award for the Best Male Playback Singer seven times, 5 Filmfare Awards and the State Award for the Best Playback Singer 43 times, which consists of awards by the state governments of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and West Bengal.
