No Darshan quota for Telangana leaders: TTD clarifies
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has recently been at the center of controversy following allegations from prominent Telangana leaders. Former BRS Minister Srinivas Goud and Telangana Cabinet Minister Konda Surekha claimed that devotees from Telangana are being neglected at Tirumala. They also alleged that recommendation letters from Telangana leaders are not being considered.
These statements stirred debates on social media, with some reports suggesting that TTD decided to accept two recommendation letters from Telangana leaders weekly. However, TTD Executive Officer (EO) Syamala Rao dismissed these rumors, stating no such decision has been made. He urged the public to avoid believing false claims circulating online.
In response to the concerns raised by Telangana leaders, the Telangana government appointed C. Ganesh Kumar as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). His role is to address issues faced by Telangana devotees visiting Tirumala and ensure their convenience.
During her recent visit to Srisailam, Minister Konda Surekha appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government and TTD to introduce regulations that would assist Telangana devotees. Similarly, Srinivas Goud expressed dissatisfaction with the TTD’s treatment of Telangana representatives and their followers.
