Rakul Preet Singh might play Shurpanakha role in Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor. Rakul is excited about this unique chance to be part of the famous Ramayana tale.

Rakul Preet Singh is reportedly in discussions for a pivotal role in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated film, Ramayana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The latest reports suggest that Rakul is in talks to portray the character of Shurpanakha, a crucial figure in the epic saga.

According to inside sources, the casting for Shurpanakha has been finalized after ongoing discussions between Rakul Preet Singh and Nitesh Tiwari. Shurpanakha holds significant importance in the Ramayana narrative as the catalyst behind the rivalry between Lord Ram and Ravana.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the project, the source states, “Rakul is excited to step into the world of this epic and considers it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to associate with the evergreen tale of Ramayana.” The paperwork for her role is expected to be completed shortly.

In addition to Rakul Preet Singh, the film boasts an impressive cast, with Ranbir Kapoor taking on the role of Ram, Sunny Deol playing Hanuman, and Sai Pallavi potentially portraying Sita. The makers are confident that Sunny Deol’s portrayal of Lord Hanuman will become synonymous with the character in modern times.

The film is set to go on floors in March 2024, and Sunny Deol will start shooting for his part in May 2024. While the first part of Ramayana will feature Sunny Deol in a guest appearance, the subsequent parts of the trilogy will showcase his complete presence.

Despite earlier talks of Alia Bhatt playing Sita, Sai Pallavi has now reportedly stepped into the role. Meanwhile, there are speculations that KGF star Yash might take on the role of Ravana, and Vijay Sethupathi is approached for the character of Vibishana.

With a stellar cast and promising storyline, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is gearing up to be a cinematic spectacle, aiming to captivate audiences when it hits the screens.
