Though an utter flop, Vinaya Vidheya Rama grossed decently in Telugu states. But, in the US, it has ended up as a disaster of the first order and left the buyer in dire straits. It couldn’t even get half of the premier collections even in the full run. It is another matter that the film has come after a massive hit like Rangasthalam.
This helped VVR get a respectable collection. Had it come after Bruce Lee, even fans would not have watched the film. Rangasthalam took Cherry to the pinnacle and though VVR is a failure, it did not rub off on Cherry due to Rangasthalam impact. Also, his next is with Rajamouli. So, there is nothing much to worry about for the fans. It is this padding that has actually helped Cherry, say trade analysts.
