Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has set social media debate with nepotism, camps and favoritism in the industry. While Kangana Ranaut and few others have called his death as a murder where star-kids are getting more prioritized than outsiders. Amidst the row, Saif Ali Khan also had a word where he called himself a ‘victim of nepotism’. He said, “There is inequality in India that needs to be explored. Nepotism, favoritism and camps are different subjects. Even I have been a victim of nepotism, but nobody speaks of that”.
Saif then went on to defended Karan Johar stating that he being “large symbol” is drawing lot of flak. He was spekaing in the context where Kangana had slammed Karan of being the flagbearer of nepotism. However, Twitterati was quick to troll him and also reminded him of him being star-kid of actress Sharmila Tagore and former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
A user wrote, “Saif Ali Khan says that he has been a victim of nepotism. It’s like Akash Ambani saying he has been a victim of wealth”. Another on pointed out, “Saif Ali Khan says he’s a victim of nepotism. Like when he won a National Award for Hum-Tum. Because it was due to nepotism of his mother Sharmila Tagore who was holding a prominent position in National Awards jury”.
