Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie, ‘Dunki,’ and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ hit the screens on the 21st and 22nd respectively. Many experts predicted that the South Indian film, ‘Salaar,’ might face tough competition due to the popularity of Shah Rukh Khan after his movies ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. However, the reality turned out to be quite surprising.

Contrary to expectations, ‘Dunki’ didn’t come close to surpassing ‘Salaar.’ In fact, it even fell short of Prabhas’ previous disaster film, ‘Adipurush,’ which received a lukewarm response upon its trailer release. On its first day, ‘Adipurush’ managed to gather nearly ₹130 Crores globally, out of which ₹45+ Crores came solely from the Hindi regions. Meanwhile, ‘Dunki’ reportedly made around ₹38+ Crores from the Hindi version and approximately ₹58+ Crores worldwide.

In contrast, ‘Salaar’ started with a bang, drawing massive crowds and exceptional collections. Its first-day figures are expected to reach an impressive ₹150+ Crores worldwide.

The phenomenal box-office collections of ‘Salaar’ unmistakably signify Prabhas’ stature towering above Shah Rukh Khan in the realm of stardom. The tremendous success of ‘Salaar’ on its opening day, amassing a staggering figure of over ₹150+ Crores globally, paints a clear picture of Prabhas’ immense popularity and drawing power. This successful reception, coupled with his previous disaster ‘Adipurush,’ which grossed nearly ₹130 Crores worldwide despite initial skepticism, solidifies Prabhas’ position as a larger-than-life star.

The movie ‘Salaar’ will hit the screens in two parts, with the initial installment titled ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ and the subsequent part named ‘Shouryaanga Parvam.’ In this movie, Prabhas takes on the character of Deva/Salaar, while Prithviraj Sukumaran portrays Varadharaja Mannar, and Jagapathi Babu appears as Rajamannar. Additionally, Shruti Haasan plays the role of Aadya in ‘Salaar.’ The first part, ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire,’ has been released in various languages, such as Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
