Salman’s dig at Arnab is not funny

Salman Khan never came out in the pen to speak about any issue, unless it hurt him or threatened to jeopardise his career. To even do that, he uses other methods to convey his thoughts. For instance the Big Boss in which he is participating or the Kapil Sharma Show which he produces, he uses them to make a statement and expects people to read between the lines. Meanwhile his PR machinery goes on an overdrive trying to make the point clear even before the show ends. This time he came down heavily on Arnab Goswami in both the programmes albeit indirectly and even said that he had spoken something indirectly that has to be a take-away. Salman Khan during Bigg Boss 14, over the weekend, took a sly dig at some media channels who are allegedly manipulating TRPs.

Salman Khan’s dig at Arnab in his shows is not funnyOn the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, while purportedly speaking to the contestants, the actor slammed the news channels and said, “Bigg Boss ke andar ya kisi bhi show ke andar, you have to play the right game. Yeh nahi ki TRP ke liye kuch bhi khelo. Bahut achcha ja rahe ho tum log. From Day-1, I have never seen the response you are getting. To make it bigger and better, be honest and real. Not by ki yaar yeh bakwas kar raha hai, jhoot bol raha hai, chilla raha hai. Point yeh nahi hai. Woh aapke channel ko bandh kar denge (You have to play the right game in Bigg Boss or any other show. You can’t do anything for TRP. From Day-1, I have never seen the response you are getting. Be honest and real to strike it big and make it better. One should not speak nonsense, lie and shout. This is not the point. They will shut your channel).”

He further added, “Jo mujhe kehna tha, indirectly maine keh diya (What I wanted to say, I have said indirectly).” For the uninformed, a fake TRP case was registered by Mumbai Police last week. It has claimed to have busted a TRP manipulation racket after TV viewership measurement agency Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) filed a complaint.
