Sammathame is a romantic drama which stars Kiran Abbavaram and Chandni Chowdary as the main leads. The film has released with a plethora of other films, and read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.
Plot
The plot is quite simple. Krishna played by Kiran Abbavaram is a small town guy with simple attitude and orthodox nature. What happens when his alliance is fixed with a modern girl played by Chandni Chowdary. How will he adjust in thjs relationship forms the crux of the film.
Performances
Kiran Abbavaram is neat during the first half but overacts for no reason in the second half. He hams for no reason and is expressionless in many scenes in the second half. Chandni Chowdary is amazing as Sanvi and is the best part of the film. She delivers a knockout performance and brings some solace to the film. The rest of the cast look sleepwalking in their roles.

Analysis
For any love story to click, the conflict point needs to be quite strong. But that is not the case here. Hero hates heroines’ bold nature and tries to change it. This look odd in the first place of he trying to do it.
Ciematically also, the narration of this aspect does not make any sense. There are so many issues in the second half as the girl bares the stupid ideologies of the hero which make no sense.
But the first half is decent though as there are good songs and the scenes are breezy. The manner in which the story comes to a break point is also handled in a proper way. But there on, director Gopinath Reddy fails to elevate the point. The point has substance to elevate comedy, drama and romance but he does not do it one bit.
With a silly climax, the hero changes his mind and the film has a happy ending. Love stories are mostly one and the same. But the treatment is what makes them interesting. Sammathame starts on a positive thread but is spoilt by inexperienced narration.
Bottom line – Lacks basic depth
