It looks like RGV is back again with yet another exciting project after Lakshmi’s NTR.

The film’s release was stopped in Andhra Pradesh as the elections were announced and since then the film couldn’t make it release as there was some trouble popping up out of nowhere, RGV decided to release the film with a date of 19th of May, 2019, but the election commission wanted to postpone it now as they have scheduled in few areas like Chandragiri.

It seems like the film is taking a lot to get its release in Andhra Pradesh. According to our sources, the makers planning to release on 23rd of May, 2019.

But, he also failed to do so as the election code is still in force. Varma stated that Babu is the one behind all this drama and he is curbing the democracy in Andhra. But TDP failed to respond on that. Interestingly, Varma now shifted his focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This morning, he tweeted a photo of Narendra Modi pulling the ears of kid and Hitler pulling the ear of a kid. He captioned it as ‘Same to Same.’ By this, he hinted that Modi is similar to Hitler. Well, that is a big remark but the BJP officials are yet to respond on it.

State Chief Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi informed Varma, in reply to the latters letter, that the movie should not be released till the model code of conduct was in force. The EC had on April 10 ordered the producers of ”Lakshmi’s NTR” and ”Udyama Simham”, the two biopics based on the lives of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao respectively, not to release the movies till further orders.

It had said that any biopic material in the nature of biography/hagiography sub-serving the purpose of any political entity or an individual entity connected to it, which is intended to, or which has the potential to disturb the level playing field during the elections should not be displayed in electronic media including cinematography during the operation of Model Code of Conduct.

”Lakshmi’s NTR’ is based on the life of Telugu Desam founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. Following a ban imposed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, the movie could not be released in the state early this month, though it hit the screens in all other places.

“It has been brought to the notice of the Commission that the said movie is publicized as a biopic of late N T Rama Rao, which purported to depict N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and a leader of a recognized political party, in a manner allegedly diminishing the electoral prospect of his party. You are hereby directed not to exhibit the film till further orders,” the ECI had said in its April 10 order.

As the general elections in the state were completed on April 11, Ramgopal Varma wrote to the CEO on April 25, requesting exhibition of “Lakshmi’s NTR” in Andhra Pradesh.

The state government in AP is not letting RGV enter the state. RGV called for a press meet yesterday where he spoke about how the government is trying to spoil the freedom of a filmmaker. “By doing this, they are only helping me with the publicity of my movie,” said RGV yesterday, during a press meet in Hyderabad.

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma and Agasthya Manju, Lakshmi’s NTR is produced by Rakesh Reddy. The film is expected to release tomorrow but we have to see if the director might face any hurdles again.
