Performances

Ajith is super stylish in his role and his actual issue is revealed in the second half. The star hero has done well in all the action sequences and looks stylish. Manju Warrier gets a good role and she was also good in the film. She also does a few stunts and makes her fans happy. Samuthirakani is also decent in his role.

What’s Good

Ajith’s look and performance
Action scenes

What’s Bad

The dull story
Lack of emotional depth
Slow second half
Bland narration

Analysis

The film starts off as a money heist thriller and then changes gears in the second half. The first half moves at a quick pace though there is no story at all. Only in the second half do we come to know that the film has other motives and what all Ajith is doing is to expose bank scams.

One of the biggest drawbacks is the silly screenplay which does not make any sense. After a while, you do not know which character is doing what. Such is the pace and silliness of the film. Also, the story feels jumbled in many places and drags on. The narration should have been clearer in this case.

Music by Ghibran is ordinary and nothing new. There is no seriousness in the film and the lengthy pace only disturbs the flow of the film and makes the audience yawn. Vijay did a film called Beast and it did not many any sense with silly logic. The same happens here with Ajith also. Thegimpu is all style and no logic and ends as a boring and outdated thriller.

Bottom Line – A silly, boring, and outdated thriller

2/5
