Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s latest film Thandel has been well-received in theaters. The survival drama inspired by true events portrays the struggles of Indian fishermen who mistakenly cross into Pakistani waters. While the film is drawing attention in cinemas, many are eager to know when it will be available on OTT.
After completing its theatrical run, Thandel will stream on Netflix in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Though the exact date is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that it may premiere on Netflix approximately 50 days after its theatrical release.
Thandel is based on the real-life story of a fisherman from Srikakulam who along with his companions was imprisoned in Pakistan after accidentally drifting across the border. The film captures their painful experiences including torture and the lack of basic necessities before their eventual release.
Naga Chaitanya plays the lead role showcasing the struggles and resilience of fishermen who face such challenges. The film’s emotional depth and realistic portrayal have resonated with audiences.
The film is produced by Bunny Vasu, with Allu Aravind as the presenter. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music while Shamdat Sainudeen handled cinematography, and Naveen Nooli took care of editing.
