Vijay Sethupati has reportedly been paid a staggering amount of money to be on the show Masterchef. Masterchef is an international cooking franchise. They have their show in many countries in many different languages and Vijay will be hosting the Tamil version of Masterchef. In an interview with a media agency, he says that he never accepted any offer for the money. It’s the connection with the people that pushes him to be part of any film, or for that matter any show, like Masterchef. In fact he has been hosting another television show Namma Oru Hero for two years. This is a Tamil weekly show where he brings into the limelight unsung heroes, the working-class soldiers, the doctors, nurses, school teachers…For him they are the real heroes. Is his interest in Masterchef connected to his interest in cooking? “I am more into eating than cooking. But food is always interesting for me,” quips Vijay Sethupati.
