In 2023, Vijay Sethupathi starred as the villain in the blockbuster Jawan, directed by Atlee and featuring Shah Rukh Khan. During a pre-release event in Chennai, Sethupathi revealed an amusing incident from his school days, involving his crush and SRK. The actor humorously shared that his crush had eyes only for the Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan.
Reflecting on the past, Sethupathi said, “Back in school, I had a crush on a girl, but she didn’t notice me. Like in my movie ’96, every ‘Jaanu’ has a ‘Ram’. But this girl was in love with Shah Rukh Khan. It took me years to finally get my revenge by working alongside him in Jawan.” His witty comment left the audience in splits.
Shah Rukh Khan, known for his charm, had a funny comeback during the event. He joked, “I assume everyone here speaking in Tamil has been praising me since I don’t understand the language. Except Vijay, who mentioned something about girls. But Vijay, you can try to get revenge, but my girls belong to me.”
The lighthearted banter between these two talented actors delighted everyone in attendance. In various interviews, Sethupathi has praised SRK, calling him humble and grounded despite his massive success.
