Tollywood star-hero Vijay Deverakonda has teamed up with director Kranthi Madhav. Since the time World Famous Lover was announced, a lot of buzz was encapsulated with. The hype fuleeed further as Vijay is seen romancing with four heroines Raashi Khanna, Katherine, Izabella and Aishwarya Rajesh starring in it. During the film promotions, Vijay Deverakonda has announced that this is his last love story. Amidst all these expectations, the film got released on Valentine’s Day. Did the film meet everyone’s expectations? Did Vijay scored a blockbuster? Let’s see in our movie review.
The film opens with a scene with bruised hero lying on the floor and who is unkempt. The background runs with a narration staining that every indvidual has a story. Vijay (Gautham) then begins his tale that revolves around Hyderabad, England, and Paris. Getting into the plot, Gautam befriends Yamini (Rashi Khanna). The duo start to be in live-in relationship. However, everything is not rosy as Yamini starts getting suffocated for being in a loveless relationship. When Yamini decides to leave Gautham, that is when Gautham introduces us to the world of Seenayya (Vijay Deverakonda), Suvarna (Aishwarya Rajesh) and Smitha (Catherine Tresa). Will this write-up help Gautam-Yamini to come back?
World Famous Lover is Vijay Deverakonda’s show. He shines in all the roles he portrays. Then comes Rashi Khanna where she impresses with her glamour and acting. Aishwarya Rajesh is another actress who chooses films with a storyline. Suvarna, a deglamor, lives as a middle-class housewife. Katherine and Izabelle are just reduced to inconsequential roles.
World Famous Lover has various issues and these slowly come out in the second half. There was absolutely no need to showcase Vijay in such an intense avatar. His get up and some moments remind us of Arjun Reddy instantly. Also, the climax looks fake as things could have been ended at the press conference scene to make a good and justifiable ending. Just to have a happy ending, the makers spoil the stance of Raashi’s role and made things cinematic. The Paris episode is outright boring and has not many exciting scenes. Though all the stories are connected well, their relation to the actual theme of the story is not shown well.
Vijay needs to tone done his acting as he is getting repetitive in all break up love stories and in his emotional outbursts. The film is a serious drama and has no entertainment at all which is a big letdown for general audience.
