Did Aishwarya blame Rajinkanth for failure of Lal Salaam?

In a surprising turn of events, Superstar Rajinikanth’s recent film, Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya, faced a major setback after the success of their previous blockbuster, Jailer. Lal Salaam turned out to be an epic disaster at the box office, leaving both fans and critics disappointed.

Aishwarya Rajesh, in response to questions about the film’s failure, offered an explanation that has stirred quite a reaction. She defended the movie, stating, “Originally, the story was very good. Rajini’s character was supposed to enter after the interval and drive the story in the second half.” Aishwarya continued, “But due to commercial reasons, we had to bring Rajini’s character in the first half itself as the audience would grow restless if they don’t see him for the entire first half. So we changed the entire edit 2 days before the release. That’s where things might’ve gotten messed up. Reshuffling the edit two days before release cost us.”

However, this explanation did not sit well with netizens who accused Aishwarya of providing excuses for the film’s failure. Some criticized her for shifting blame to editing, suggesting she should acknowledge her mistakes in writing and direction. A netizen remarked, “She tries to cover all her mistakes in the name of editing. She has to admit her mistakes in writing and direction and learn from them. Simply pushing the blame on editing will help nobody.”

The controversy also sparked speculation that Aishwarya might be deflecting blame onto Rajinikanth’s character rather than acknowledging her own shortcomings in direction. The reactions from the audience indicate a divided opinion on Aishwarya’s handling of the film’s failure.
