Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie have parted ways and are set for divorce after 25 years of togetherness. The couple issued a joint statement on Twitter which reads, “After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends”. The couple got married in 1993 after three months into dating. A year later Amazon was founded and since then it has expanded from an online book retailer to giant e-commerce site.
The Bloomberg Billionaire Index declared Jeff Bezos (54) as the world’s richest man with a wealth of $137 billion, that is ahead of Bill Gates with $45 billion. Meanwhile, MacKenzie Bezos (48), a novelist, is the author of The Testing of Luther Albright (2005) and Traps (2013).
