Bhairavam Box Office Collection Affected by Two Major Challenges

Tollywood actors Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Nara Rohit, and Manchu Manoj have returned to the silver screen after a long break with Bhairavam. This film is a Telugu remake of the Tamil action drama Garudan. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala and produced by KK Radha Mohan, Bhairavam released in theatres on Friday. However, the film is already facing multiple challenges.

On the first day, Bhairavam saw a below-average opening. One major reason was the re-release of Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja, which received a strong response from fans. Many theatres saw huge celebrations for Khaleja, which affected Bhairavam’s collections.

The situation slightly improved during Friday evening shows as more people visited the theatres. However, the ongoing IPL 2025 playoffs also drew a large section of the audience away from cinemas. Additionally, several popular films like Nani’s HIT 3, Mohanlal’s Thudaram, and Suriya’s Retro were released on OTT platforms this weekend. As a result, many viewers chose to watch films from home rather than going to theatres.

Despite this competition, Bhairavam managed to collect decent numbers on Saturday across the Telugu-speaking states. But for the film to recover its budget and make profits, it must perform well on Sunday and during the weekdays.

Another issue is the IPL 2025 final, which is scheduled for Tuesday. This is likely to impact footfalls in theatres once again. Moreover, on Thursday, Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film Thug Life will hit the screens, and it is expected to attract a large audience.

Overall, Bhairavam is surrounded by heavy competition and timing issues. From re-releases and IPL matches to new OTT and theatrical releases, the film’s success depends on how well it holds over the coming days. The team behind Bhairavam is hopeful that positive word of mouth and strong performances will help it overcome these obstacles.
