2018 is coming to an end and it has been quite a good year for Tollywood. But it ended up as a nightmare for two stars Nithin and Ravi Teja as none of their succeeded at the box-office.
Young hero Nithin tried his luck twice this year. His 25th film ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’ backed by Trivikram and Pawan Kalyan failed at the box-office. This breezy romantic entertainer failed to strike the chord with the audience. Also, releasing in between ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ dampened its collections. He pinned a lot of hopes on ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ which was from national award winning ‘Shatamanambhavati’ team. But it ended up as a disaster and people were vexed with its long lectures about marriage.
Ravi Teja came with three films this year. ‘Touch CHesi Choodu’ which released in February was an outright disaster. Same repeated with ‘Nela Ticket’ which hit the screens on June. Both were ridiculed for its run-of-the-mill screenplay. His much anticipated ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ with Sreenu Vytla too proved to be a disappointment as it couldn’t recover even half of its budget.
Hope these two score their long awaited hits in 2019 at least.
