Here’s who saved Saif Ali Khan’s life after the shocking attack
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in a shocking attack at his Bandra residence, Mumbai in the early hours of January 16, 2025. The attacker inflicted six stab wounds on Saif, one dangerously close to his spine. His elder son Ibrahim Ali Khan acted quickly and rushed his father to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw, as no car was immediately available. This prompt decision ensured Saif received critical medical care on time.
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital performed surgery and later confirmed that Saif is out of danger. Dr. Uttamani, the hospital’s COO, stated that the actor suffered two deep wounds, two intermediate injuries, and two minor cuts. Due to the severity of one injury near the spine, a neurosurgeon was also consulted. Saif’s family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, is unharmed, as per an official statement.
Investigations reveal that the attack may have been part of a planned robbery. Forensic experts have collected fingerprints and other evidence from the crime scene. A forensic officer told the media, “Fingerprints have been collected, and further updates will come from senior officials.”
Police suspect that the attacker may have connections with someone from Saif’s house staff. Initial questioning of housekeepers revealed this possibility. CCTV footage shows no suspicious entries close to the time of the attack, suggesting the intruder might have entered earlier and waited for the right moment.
The incident has raised security concerns across Mumbai. Actor Pooja Bhatt expressed unease, urging stronger police measures in Bandra. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also sent prayers for Saif’s recovery and demanded strict action against the attacker.
