KTR warns media houses

TRS working president KT Rama Rao lashed out at a section of media houses for carrying Andhra Pradesh news in Telangana editions and failing to cover the local news. KTR reflected that going through the newspaper it dawned pong him as if he was staying in Andar region instead of Telangana. KTR went on to warn the section of media and asked them to mend their ways, else a stringent action would be taken.

KTR warns media houses

KTR spoke on the sidelines of journalist union TUWJ meeting on January 23 which felicitated Ch Kranti, a journalist-turned-MLA, who recently won in the assembly elections. “They are still showing dominant attitude… as if to say whatever we do is correct. Everyday we see Amaravati related news in newspapers in Telangana State. Is it not their minimum courtesy to show Telangana related news in Amaravati also? When I was in New Delhi and see newspaper there is no news of Telangana State, neither they have our photos. When I asked them, they said it is Andhra edition. If there is no news of Telangana State in Andhra edition, is there any need to have Andhra news in Telangana edition? If the Chief Minister speaks about it, it angers some people,” said KTR.

“There is a need to put full stop for attitude like ‘we will sit on your head… you don’t have wisdom etc. There is a need to promote media houses with Telangana ideology. If we do this, they will say freedom of expression is in danger and show it as attack on entire media,” KTR added.
