One of the most trending hashtags of the year was #MeToo that shook Bollywood and South glamour industries. The name that strikes is singer Chinmayi Sripaada who called out names that were brushed under the carpet. The actress named lyricist Vairamuthu as a sexual predator. The issue was no mean feta for Chinmayi as she faced a backlash from Tamil dubbing union. However, the singer undeterred has continued to speak out.
Wondering why now we are bringing up this all again? Well, Chinmayi took to social media thanking all the people including actress Samantha, actor Siddharth among others who supported her in the ensuing #MeToo movement. “Shoutout to @Samanthaprabhu2 She has truly been a friend in need, constantly being in touch, asking how she could help, how she could support. Women like her who help other women are rockstars,” she posted.
