Akhil Akkineni’s Mr Majnu released on January 25 got mixed vies from the audience and critics alike The film helmed by Venky Atluri had high expectations considering he delivered blockbuster directorial debut Tholi Prema. However, Venky chose familiar turf Akhil’s film. The film in the Telugu states collected with a distributor share of Rs 3 crore on day 1.
Interestingly, the film, however, had raked in less comparing to his first film Akhil and second Hello. While Akhil collected Rs 7.56 crore share and Hello minted Rs 3.10crore on the first day. Considering that January 26 is a Republic Day and public holiday, Mr Majnu has a fair chance of reviving the box-office window. It also has an advantage that no other big films are clashing with it.
