Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalasina Vadini Movie Review

Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalasina Vadini has been promoted on an aggressive note in the last few days. It has hit the screens today. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Vivek(Kiran Abbavaram) is a cab driver who drops an alcoholic played by Sanjanna Anand. She tells her love story and Vivek too narrates his side of love. In all this, they fall in love with each other and there is a twist in that all. What is that twist and how the drama unfolds is the story of the film.

Performances

Kiran Abbavaram is taking good steps in his career and this is his first attempt at doing a mass film. He has done well in his role and also dances nicely. He has improved as an actor though. The heroine, Sanjanna Anand is the weakest link and she does not hold fort at all even after having a solid role. Krishna Reddy has a dull role and does not make any difference to the plot. Baba Bhaskar over acted to no extent in the comedy role.

What’s good

Songs
Comedy

What’s Bad

Dull narration
Boring emotions
Silly climax
Dull heroines

Analysis

The story idea itself is very old and has nothing much to showcase. The beaten to death formulae is forced on the viewer and it takes forever to enter the main plot.

The film is shown as a family drama but has nothing to do with it. The movie has two love stories which are told in either halves and do not create any impact on the audience.

The runtime is long and comedy clicks here and there. The lead pair do not create any chemistry for the audience to enjoy but Mani Sharma and his score was very good.

There is not one strong emotional thread in the film which makes sense. The conflict arises only in the climax and by then the audience are super frustrated. The director Sridhar has taken things easily and made a bad film.

Kiran Abbavaram is a good talent and was known for picking emotions over content. But he is trying way too much to go the mass route and do commercial films which have no soul. He needs to get his selection right otherwise films like Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalasina Vadini will take his career further down.

Bottom line- Old wine in old bottle
