New York sees deadliest toll in COVID-19. The US state dubbed as the epicenter of novel virus has seen biggest deaths in last 24 hours from Monday to Tuesday with 5,489 casualties. City Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “Behind every one of those numbers is an individual, is a family, is a mother, is a father, is a sister, is a brother. So a lot of pain again today for many New Yorkers and they’re in our thoughts and prayers”. However, the good news was that the daily incubations and ICU admissions have been reduced with state reaching the stage of plateau in number of hospitalizations.
Cuomo said the an antibody testing regimen has been developed and has collaborated with the Food and Drug Administration to bring it to scale. The official also announced the state will invest in private companies to bring rapid COVID-19 testing to scale and accelerate testing capacity.
