When Karnam Malleshwari’s biopic was announced, actress Nithya Menen’s name cropped up where it was reported that she is essaying the role. Later, it was reported that she has tuned down the plum offer over Jayalalitha’s biopic. However, the actress has now brushed them off as mere rumours stating that to reject a film first she has to be offered. Nithya went on to reveal that she was never offered role for Karnam Malleshwari’s biopic and in turn questioned that how could someone offer her as she doesn’t fit the role.
“To do a biopic, one must be able to fit into the role, and no where i see myself getting into the look of Karnam Malleshwari,” said Nithya. The biopic is being directed by Sanjana Reddy. Previously, there were reports that the director was taken ill and the film may not shape up as they had planned. However, film’s producer Kona Venkat had refuted them as mere rumours of Sanjana being in a critical condition and said that she collapsed as she was on a liquid diet. He assured the confidence that the biopic will resume as stated. For the unversed, Sanjana made her directorial debut in 2018 with Raj Tarun starrer Raju Gadu.
