He even tried to get Kalyan Ram to contest from Kukatpally in the just concluded elections. When Kalyan Ram flatly refused, he brought in Suhasini. Interestingly, both Kalyan Ram and NTR stayed away from campaigning and Suhasini lost badly. One expected at least Kalyan Ram to campaign, but he too kept his counsel. When recently asked about it, he said it was a closed chapter and then added that his going or not going would not make much difference as it was an open and shut case. He said there was no need to talk about this. What is surprising is that both Tharak and Kalyan Ram knew that Suhasini was all set to lose regardless of their campaign. So, they opted out.
