Rakul Preet Singh at the prime of her career commanded a remuneration of Rs 1 crore per film. Now her career has faded and Telugu film offers have almost dried up. But, she is now commanding Rs 2 crore for one film that she has agreed to do recently. She is getting this fat cheque for acting opposite Nagarjuna, who is twice older, in Manmadhudu 2.
Initially, when she quoted this price, the unit began looking for other heroines. They even held parleys with Payal Rajput. But, director Ravindran rooted for Rakul and argued that only a heroine of her stature will add value to the film.
Finally, the unit gave in and signed her for the film. Nag himself is producing the film.
