Rana Dagubati Opens Up On Need For Literature In Cinema

Rana Daggubati has always believed in breaking the glass ceiling by trying to bring a fresh wave of cinema with encouraging new talent and also broadening the perceptive of the requirement in filmmaking. Rana says that contemporary cinema needs to understand the requirement of imbibing literature into cinema.

“If we look at the movie business 50 or 60 years ago, a majority of the content came from literature writers or scholars of that time. Today, that ecosystem is kind of breaking. There is a need for more and more cinema, but very few people understand that if there is a need for cinema, there is a need for literature as well,” said Rana.

Rana’s Suresh Production has collaborated with  Kwan South merging the entertainment marketplace with a regional focus.  Kwan brings u a literature team that’s sole purpose is to bring out content and reach correct audiences. “There will be Telugu, Hindi and Tamil writers. It is understood that putting all of them together has made our way of working better than what we have been able to do in all these years,” says Rana.
