Sankranthiki Vasthunam OTT:
Following the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam at the box office, the makers are considering delaying its OTT release. The movie, which stars Venkatesh Daggubati, has performed well in theaters since its release on January 14, crossing Rs 100 crore in India and earning over Rs 200 crore globally in just two weeks. Due to its ongoing success, producer Dil Raju is discussing with ZEE5, who purchased the movie’s digital rights for Rs 30 crore, to postpone the film’s OTT debut, initially scheduled for the second week of February 2025.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam is an action-comedy about a retired IPS officer, played by Venkatesh, who leads a peaceful life with his wife. When a high-profile kidnapping case arises, his ex-girlfriend seeks his help, and the officer’s wife, suspicious of her husband’s loyalty, decides to join them in solving the case. Alongside Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh plays his wife, and Meenakshi Chaudhary portrays his former girlfriend. The movie also features a strong supporting cast including Upendra Limaye, Srinivasa Reddy and Naresh.
Despite the movie’s theatrical success, the team wants to maximize its potential by carefully timing the OTT release to maintain momentum. If they push the release further, it will ensure that Sankranthiki Vasthunam continues to draw attention for a longer period, both in cinemas and on streaming platforms.
The film’s commercial success is impressive, with a box office collection of Rs 156.70 crore in its first 13 days. The production team, however remains focused on keeping the momentum alive and ensuring the film reaches its full potential before its OTT release.
