Sebastian PC 524 Review

Along with Adavallu Meeku Joharlu, one more film of Kiran Abbavaram titled Sebastian PC 524 has been released today. Read on to know if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Sebastian(Kiran Abbavaram) is a police constable who has night blindness. But one fine day, he gets a night duty and to his bad luck, a murder happens and he gets suspended. So, Sebastian takes things in his hand and starts an investigation on his own. Did he crack the case and get his job back is the story.

Performances

Kiran Abbavaram is turning out to become a good actor. He has done well as the constable who has night blindness and fears about his job. Kiran looks natural in his role and easily pulls it off and adds relatability to his character. Nuveksha and Komalee Prasad are the female leads. They don’t play heroines in a typical sense and are part of the narrative.

Analysis

Sebastian has a good storyline but is marred with some dull narration. The director Balaji takes us directly into the proceedings but his predicament itself could be a make-or-break deal for a few. There are some decent bits filling the narrative if one goes beyond it.

Sebastian’s role is superb but there are not many supporting characters that make the thriller interesting. There was a very good scope to induce more drama but the director has failed to use this opportunity.

The scenes around the interval are the most intriguing of the lot. The one especially involving the hero’s challenge raises hopes in the second half. Ghibran has given a very good BGM and this helps the film in a big way.

Having said all this, Sebastian PC 524 could have been a gripping thriller if not for all the dull screenplay and lack of depth in the second half. A missed opportunity.

Bottom Line – Misused opportunity
