Hari Hara Veera Mallu not releasing on time again?

There is growing buzz in the Telugu film industry that two highly anticipated films Hari Hara Veera Mallu starring Pawan Kalyan, and Kingdom featuring Vijay Deverakonda might face delays in their scheduled releases.

Originally, Hari Hara Veera Mallu was set to hit theatres on June 12, 2025. However, according to recent reports, the film’s post-production work, especially VFX, is still ongoing. With a significant amount of work pending, the release may now be pushed to July 4, 2025. Although fans are eagerly waiting for the film, there has been no official confirmation yet about the change in date.

The movie is a historical action drama that takes place during the Mughal era. It features Pawan Kalyan as an outlaw, Veera Mallu, who is given the task of stealing the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond. Bobby Deol plays the villain, and the cast also includes Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Satyaraj. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ ఇప్పుడు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ డిప్యూటీ సీఎం గా సేవలందిస్తున్న సంగతి తెలిసిందే. కానీ ఇది రెండు దశాబ్దాల క్రితమే జరిగిపోయి ఉండేది అన్న సంగతి ఇటీవల వెల్లడైంది.

తాజాగా ‘హరి హర వీర మల్లు’ ప్రమోషన్ సందర్భంగా నిర్మాత ఏ ఎం రత్నం ఓ ఆసక్తికర విషయాన్ని బయటపెట్టారు. ఆయన చెబుతూన్నారు – ‘‘2003లో పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ దర్శకత్వంలో ‘సత్యాగ్రహి’ అనే సినిమా చేయాలని ప్లాన్ చేశాం. గ్రాండ్ లాంచ్ కూడా చేసాం. కానీ ‘జానీ’ ఫలితం నిరాశ కలిగించడంతో పవన్ గారు స్క్రిప్ట్ పూర్తిచేయలేదు. ఆ సినిమా ఆగిపోయింది,’’ అని చెప్పారు.

ఇక్కడే అసలైన ట్విస్ట్ ఉంది. ‘‘ఇటీవల పవన్ గారిని కలిశాను. ‘సత్యాగ్రహి’ విషయం ప్రస్తావించాను. అప్పుడు పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ చెప్పారు – ‘అది సినిమా తీసుంటే నేనేం రాజకీయాల్లోకి వచ్చేదానిని కాదు. ఆమీర్ ఖాన్ మాదిరిగా నటించేవాడిని’ అని అన్నారు,” అని ఏ ఎం రత్నం వెల్లడించారు.

అంటే ఒక సినిమానే పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ జీవితాన్ని పూర్తిగా మార్చేసినట్లే. ‘సత్యాగ్రహి’ పూర్తయి ఉంటే, ఆయన నాయకత్వం పైన కన్నేసిన జనసేన పార్టీ జన్మించేది కాదు. రాజకీయాల్లోకి అడుగుపెట్టే ప్రశ్నే రాలేదని చెప్పవచ్చు.

‘సత్యాగ్రహి’ అనేది రాజకీయ నేపథ్యంలో ఉండే సినిమా. ప్రముఖ స్వాతంత్ర్య సమరయోధుడు లోకనాయక్ జయప్రకాశ్ నారాయణ గారి ‘ఎమర్జెన్సీ ఉద్యమం’ ఆధారంగా కథ రాసారని తెలుస్తోంది.

Filming of Pawan Kalyan’s OG Paused

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has been diagnosed with dengue, leading to a temporary halt in the shooting of the much-awaited film They Call Him OG, which stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role.

The film, also known as OG, is directed by Sujeeth, famous for his work in Saaho. The team was currently shooting in Mumbai when Emraan began showing signs of illness. He underwent medical tests after feeling unwell, and the diagnosis confirmed dengue.

Doctors have advised the actor to take full rest. As a result, the production team decided to put the shooting on hold. Emraan personally informed the team about his health condition, and they agreed that his recovery is the top priority. According to sources, he is expected to rest for at least a week before returning to work.

They Call Him OG is an intense gangster action drama. The story follows a powerful gangster who vanishes from the crime world but returns years later to take revenge. Pawan Kalyan plays the lead character, while Emraan Hashmi takes on the role of the main villain. This marks Emraan’s debut in Telugu cinema.

Couple of days back, it was announced that Pawan Kalyan’s stylish action movie OG will be released on September 25th, just in time for the Dasara holiday. This festival season usually sees many big films hitting the theaters. Along with OG, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 and Sai Dharam Tej’s Sambarla Yeti Gattu were also planned for release during Dasara. However, Akhanda 2 is now expected to come out later, around Sankranthi, because its work is not yet finished. The makers of Akhanda 2 are not rushing to release the movie during Dasara, so its release date has been postponed. Because OG is coming during Dasara, Sai Dharam Tej’s Sambarla Yeti Gattu will be delayed and released at a later time.

Another notable film, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara 2, is set to release on October 2nd. Besides these movies, there are no other major Telugu films expected to release during the Dasara holidays. This gives OG a clear advantage to attract more audience during this festive season.
