VD12: Vijay Deverakonda to take a huge risk

Vijay Deverakonda Vijay Deverakonda

Vijay Deverakonda, has been on a rollercoaster ride with his recent movies. While his latest projects haven’t quite lived up to fans’ expectations, he’s gearing up for something big – an action drama directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, where he’ll don the role of a cop. But here’s the twist: this next film can’t just be another run-of-the-mill experience.

Unlike typical Telugu films where a catchy song often seals the deal for success, the team behind VD 12 is taking a different approach. They’re placing their bets on Anirudh, the rockstar music composer, and his band to set their movie apart. Director Gowtam believes that traditional songs might clash with the film’s mood and uniqueness, so they’re banking on Anirudh’s music to elevate the experience.

This unconventional decision has left some fans scratching their heads. Vijay Deverakonda has been facing a string of setbacks with his recent releases, and taking such risks could either propel his career to new heights or further dent it if the upcoming venture, VD12,  fails to strike a chord with audiences.

But Vijay seems undeterred by the potential pitfalls. Perhaps inspired by Karthi’s successful song-less flick “Khaidi,” he’s embracing the challenge wholeheartedly. After all, great risks often lead to great rewards.

Scheduled for release in 2023, the film is backed by Sithara Entertainments with a hefty budget, aiming for a pan-Indian audience. It’s a bold move, no doubt, but one that might just pay off, reigniting the audience’s fervor for Vijay Deverakonda’s on-screen charisma.

In the unpredictable world of cinema, only time will tell if this gamble will pay off. But one thing’s for sure: Vijay Deverakonda isn’t one to shy away from pushing the boundaries and rewriting the rules of Telugu cinema.
