DSP is a byword for quality, foot-tapping numbers. His songs have smashed all records and his capacity to churn out chart-buster after chart-buster is legion. But, of late, DSP hasn’t been able to give numbers that make one break into a jig. Even the heroes are said to be upset and their fans disappointed. The numbers he churned out for Dil Raju’s F2 are eminently forgettable. This is quite rare for Dil Raju’s films, which are known for good music.
DSP hasn’t been in his elements after Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu. His music for Hello Guru Prema Kosame was not up to the standard, while the music in Vinaya Vidheya Rama and F2 too is below par. Time was when his musical numbers were heard in repeat mode.
In fact, this used to happen for the whole album. Now, barely one or two songs are able to wow the music lovers. Is DSP going the way of Mani Sharma and Koti? One hopes he wipes of this blot by churning out good numbers in Maharshi, his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu.
