In real life today, political views of Nandamuri Balakrishna and YCP’s Nagari MLA RK Roja but they worked in films as a hit pair throughout 90’s. In fact, Roja’s decision to marry and take a break from films, resulted in the pair returning only on political platform as TDP supporters, 15 years ago.
Many of their fans wanted to see them comeback on screen during 2005-07, when Roja was still finding her footing in politics but she wanted to dedicate herself to people of Chittoor and worked hard to gain belief of public. Even after losing in 2009, she fought valiantly and won with a narrow margin in 2014 on YCP ticket and in 2019, she improved on her majority.
Interestingly, when TDP was single largest party in 2014, Roja won against TDP candidate in Nagari which seemed almost impossible. In 2019, Balakrishna won in Hindupur as MLA for the second time when YCP swing made it impossible for even big leaders of TDP to win the elections.
Well, Boyapati Srinu might ask Roja and Balakrishna to put all these differences aside and act in his next but as foes. She could turn up as villain in the film but will realise in the end to help people and the hero, it seems. Roja reduced her work in Films but continues to work on TV as a firebrand host and judge on a comedy show. If she decides to take this opportunity, then we may see Balakrishna and Roja going loggerheads on big screen, which will be feisty and interesting battle of wits, if well executed, to watch.
