A video of YSR Telangana Party founder YS Sharmila slapping a woman constable went viral on social media platforms on Monday morning.
Tension prevailed at her Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad when the police obstructed her from meeting the officials of the Special Investigating Team (SIT) who are probing the TSPSC paper leak case. Sharmila was about to meet the officials to submit a memorandum over the case.
In the process, the city police obstructed her and tried to house arrest Sharmila. Mild tension prevailed at the location when she picked up an argument with the police officials present at her residence. Sharmila demanded that as to why they’re preventing her from going out of her residence. Two woman constables present at the spot tried to resist her, in the process, Sharmila lost her cool and slapped the woman constable. Her colleagues who are miffed by the incident watched the scene in shock.
The short video of this is doing rounds on Twitter. Meanwhile, netizens started expressing anger the way Sharmila behaved publicly. Users found fault with Sharmila over slapping a woman constable who is doing her duty after all.
A few users wrote that it is a publicity stunt from YS Sharmila and finally the police will play the victim card in the entire episode.
