Ace Review and Rating: Who Needs Logic When You Have Comedy?

Introduction
Ace, directed by Arumuga Kumar, brings together the much-loved Vijay Sethupathi and comedian Yogi Babu in a crime comedy.lets see how film is.

Story

The film follows Arivu (Yogi Babu), a rag picker in Malaysia pretending to be a rich man to impress Kalpana (Divya Pillai). A mix-up at the airport brings Bold Kannan (Vijay Sethupathi) into his life, whom Arivu mistakes for someone else. Kannan gets involved in Arivu’s world, falls in love with Rukku (Rukmini Vasanth), and learns about her struggles with her abusive stepfather. To help her, Kannan plans a heist with Arivu, but thug Dharma (BS Avinash) complicates things. What follows is a madcap ride of action, love, and comedy.

Performances
Vijay Sethupathi effortlessly brings charm to the role of Kannan, while Yogi Babu’s comic timing is the film’s biggest strength. Their camaraderie lifts many dull moments. Rukmini Vasanth, though making her Tamil debut, doesn’t get much scope. Divya Pillai surprises with a strong performance. Babloo Prithviraj and BS Avinash play their negative roles well.

Technical Aspects
Sam CS’s background score adds energy, especially during action scenes, while Justin Prabhakaran’s Urugudhu Urugudhu is an emotional highlight. Cinematographer Karan B Rawat captures Malaysia beautifully. However, the film could have benefited from tighter editing by Fenny Oliver, as the 154-minute runtime feels stretched.

Analysis
While the plot feels outdated and lacks depth, the humour and the chemistry between the lead duo keep things entertaining. References to Sethupathi’s older films add nostalgic charm. The film is clearly aimed at family audiences, keeping the content clean and simple.

Verdict
Ace is a mindless entertainer made bearable by its lead actors. Watch it for the fun moments, not for the logic or story depth.

Rating
2/ 5
