Allu Aravind plans to shelve Ramayan

After the success of the films Baahubali and KGF, star producer Allu Aravind planned to bankroll a pan-Indian film. He decided to make Ramayan with a humongous budget of Rs. 1500 crores, making it the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema. However, we now hear that he is planning to shelve the project.Allu Aravind roped in Bollywood directors Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar to direct this epic. He also stated that the movie will be made in 3D.

Allu Aravind All of a sudden, the coronavirus pandemic happened and changed the dynamics of the movie industry. Most of the films are opting for a digital release and the theatrical viewership is going to decline in the coming days as well.On the flip side, Om Raut already announced Adipurush, which is also based on Ramayan. Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan are playing the lead in it. Recently, Akshay Kumar announced a movie called Ram Setu. Aravind felt that too many films are being made on Ramayan and it would not help his film on the business front. Thus, he decided to shelve the project.
