Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu may become a pro-term speaker. Will he take up the post of pro-term speaker? This is the million-dollar question which is to be seen. Interestingly, Naidu has been Chief Minister thrice and Opposition leader twice, and the senior-most legislator is appointed pro-tem Speaker, whose job is to oversee the election of the Speaker along with swearing in all the legislators
Considering that Chandrababu is the senior-most legislator, he may be offered it. If not CBN then TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao is next in line.
Meanwhile, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy invited TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for the latter’s swearing-in ceremony. Jagan reportedly called over Chandrababu over the phone and invited him for the Oath-taking ceremony on May 30 to be held at Vijayawada. On the other side, the outgoing Chief Minister Naidu asked party members not be to disheartened by the loss. Addressing the party leaders and workers after hoisting the party flag, Naidu asked them not to get demoralized. Paying rich tributes to NTR, as the late leader was popularly known, Naidu said he brought honour and recognition to Telugu people at the national and even international level.
