DYK THIS Tollywood Actor Missed Villain Role in Ram Charan’s Dhruva

The Telugu film Dhruva, starring Ram Charan, became a big hit when it released. Directed by stylish filmmaker Surender Reddy, the movie was a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Thani Oruvan. Ram Charan’s six-pack look and powerful performance were the highlights of the film. The villain role, played by Arvind Swamy, was also very important and praised by both critics and fans.

However, not many know that Arvind Swamy was not the first choice for the villain role. The makers initially approached star actor Akkineni Nagarjuna for this negative role. Director Surender Reddy had a discussion with Nagarjuna and even got a positive response. Nagarjuna reportedly liked the script and character.

But due to some unexpected reasons and busy schedules, Nagarjuna could not commit to the project. He was already busy with his films as a hero, and could not adjust his dates. So, the role was finally offered to Arvind Swamy, who had already done the same role in the Tamil version.

There were also talks with Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. But he rejected the role because he did not want to play a negative character, as he was known for his hero image.

Even though Nagarjuna missed the chance, Arvind Swamy did a great job and his performance added depth to the movie. Dhruva turned out to be a major success in Telugu as well.

Currently, Ram Charan is working on his upcoming film Peddi with director Buchi Babu Sana. Nagarjuna is also active with key roles in upcoming movies like Kubera alongside Dhanush and Coolie with Rajinikanth.
