Prasanna Kumar Bezawada, the creative mind behind successful Tollywood films like ‘Nenu Local,’ ‘Cinema Choopista Maava,’ ‘Dhamaka,’ and ‘Naa Saami Ranga,’ has been making waves as a prominent writer in the industry. Recently, he shared candid thoughts about nepotism, shedding light on the influence of megastar Chiranjeevi in his journey to the film industry.

In a recent interview, Prasanna Kumar expressed his admiration for Chiranjeevi, highlighting that the megastar’s presence in Hyderabad served as an inspiration for him in Machilipatnam to pursue a career in the film world. However, he also made thought-provoking statements regarding nepotism, highlighting that audience appreciation is based on talent rather than familial connections.

Prasanna Kumar questioned the concept of relying solely on a star’s lineage, stating, “The audience loves an actor only if he’s talented and not because he is the son of a big star.” He drew attention to the changing dynamics of audience preferences, pointing out that even Chiranjeevi’s movies face challenges if the content fails to resonate.

He said, “Megastar Chiranjeevi, residing in Hyderabad, inspired Prasanna Kumar (me) in Machilipatnam to enter the film industry. If he can’t motivate his son to become an actor while sleeping in the adjacent room, then what kind of icon is Chiranjeevi?”. “The audience loves an actor only if he’s talented and not simply because he is the son of a big star. In these times, there is no audience in the matinee show on the first day of Chiranjeevi’s movie if the film isn’t good. So, how will people watch Ram Charan’s films just because he is Chiranjeevi’s son?,” he added.

It’s a known fact that the same thing happened with Chiranjeevi’s films like Acharya and God Father. Even though what the writer said was entirely true and not meant to criticize Chiranjeevi, some netizens are mistakenly viewing it as a mistake. They question how he could declare that Chiranjeevi’s films won’t attract an audience on the first day matinee show. Some argue that Chiranjeevi’s star power can still draw viewers for the first three days, even if the film doesn’t perform well overall.
