Is Deepika Padukone Out of Kalki 2?
Popular actress Deepika Padukone is facing backlash in the film industry due to a series of professional issues. According to sources, she was recently removed from the film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas. The reason behind this decision is said to be her “unreasonable” demands, including strict work hours and a large paycheck, which the director reportedly found difficult to accept.
After her exit from Spirit, Deepika’s public relations team tried to present her side of the story, highlighting her role as a new mother. They stated that her request to work only eight hours a day was valid. She also claimed that the film Spirit had an A-rated script, which didn’t align with her current image. However, insiders say that the working hours were not the only problem.

Reports suggest that Deepika demanded a high salary and a share in the film’s profits. Additionally, she was not ready to deliver her dialogues in Telugu, which has become essential for Pan-India films. These conditions made it difficult for filmmakers to work with her.
Now, concerns have arisen about her role in Kalki 2, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. It is being speculated that the film’s director, Nag Ashwin, might either reduce her role or completely remove her character in the sequel to avoid complications.
If this happens, Deepika may lose two big South Indian projects back-to-back. This could damage her reputation and limit her chances in future Pan-India films. With the South Indian film industry producing many large-scale projects, such setbacks could affect her career growth.
While nothing is officially confirmed yet, the industry is closely watching how things unfold. It remains to be seen whether Deepika can rebuild her image and make a strong comeback in Indian cinema.
