Review - IIT Krishnamurthy - A Thriller that never engages

Plot

The film starts off with a guy named Krishna(Prudhvi) landing in Hyderabad looking for his missing uncle. He approaches the cops and they start an investigation. But at the same time, Krishna starts getting attacked all of a sudden. Who are these people that are attacking Krishna and what has his uncle to do with them. The rest of the story is as to how Krishna cracks this case by himself along with the cops.

Actors and Performances

The film is a thriller and has a lot to do with cops. The casting for the cop is spot on as theatre actor Vijay Varma looks and plays his cop’s role to perfection. He is the only solace of the film and makes some sense in the movie. Vijay Varma who is slowly making strides in his career is very good with his body language and dialogue delivery. But that is not the case with the main lead Prudhvi. He is expressionless and sleepwalks his role. There is no seriousness on his face and because of this, the film does not evoke interest as the hero itself looks disinterested. Heroine Maira is hardly and has been brought in for the songs and romantic track. The rest of the supporting cast is dull and does not create any impact on the plot.

Analysis

The film has a simple story and starts off well. A man approaching the cops for his missing uncle and the cops too investigating the case in a decent manner look good. But as the film passes by, the so-called key twists are not established well. What will happen next in the film is the feeling one must get while watching a thriller but not once in the first one hour that is created by the director. The cops investigating the case, hero getting attacked and upon this, the silly romantic track, none of this makes an impact.
Review IIT Krishnamurthy c

The screenplay is the hero of any thriller but here, the pace is dull, and only during the last fifteen minutes when the key twist is revealed, things make some sense. Songs are boring and the dialogues are also not interesting enough. The cameraman nicely captures the mood of the story but it is the unengaging narration that never grows on you and makes the film boring.
IIT Krishnamurthy 4
The makers have spent well on the film that does not add to the purpose. In a nutshell, IIT Krishnamurty is a film that fails in many aspects. The story, narration, and screenplay do not create any effect and the performances will also add to the misery and make things difficult to watch.
