It looks like Samantha’s movie ‘Shakuntalam’ is wading through rough waters. There is none to buy the movie rights in the United States, it is learnt. The buyer, who promised to buy the movie for Rs 4 crore for distribution in America, is now playing a dodgy game. The reason is that the film has less buzz in the market.
The movie has problems in Andhra Pradesh. The makers have put the price of Rs 8 crore for the ‘Shakuntalam’ rights in the Andhra region. No buyers are coming forward to buy the film for this hefty price. Even though Dil Raju has regular buyers in every region, the film is produced by Gunesekhar under Gunaa Teamworks. So there seems to be an unsettled ease.
Meanwhile, in order to step up promotional activity, Gunasekhar wanted to start premier shows from April 11. It is learnt that shows will be screened to various Hindu groups like RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
