Telugu audiences loving Rajini and hating Chiranjeevi Netizens divided

In the realm of movies, whether it’s adoration or criticism, individuals tend to voice their opinions promptly, especially in the context of fans and detractors. In the current week, a pair of films debuted in the Telugu states: Bholaa Shankar, featuring Chiranjeevi, and the dubbed version of Jailer, starring Rajinikanth.

While Jailer managed to captivate audiences, including those in Telugu-speaking regions, Bholaa Shankar struggled to pack theatres. This outcome was largely expected, but certain netizens took their discontent further by scrutinising Chiranjeevi’s choice of antiquated narratives and cringe-inducing scenes.

While it’s unquestionably acceptable to laud Rajinikanth, it’s unfair to solely hold Chiranjeevi accountable for the underperformance of Bholaa Shankar at the box office, as expressed by some netizens. They pointed out that both actors have weathered challenging phases in their lives, and now, Chiranjeevi finds himself facing another such phase.

Even a portion of Rajinikanth’s fan base stepped in to defend Chiranjeevi, admonishing his critics and emphasising that both actors share the common goal of entertaining their admirers. Others questioned the necessity of imparting lessons on script selection. Irrespective of the viewpoints, Chiranjeevi would benefit from introspecting upon his missteps and contemplating original scripts harmonising with his age and acting sensibilities.
