Unni Mukundan Allegedly Assaults Manager Over Tovino Thomas Praise
Popular Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is in the news after serious allegations were made against him by his long-time manager, Vipin Kumar. As per several reports from trusted Malayalam news sources, Vipin has filed a complaint stating that Unni assaulted him physically and verbally. This happened after the manager praised actor Tovino Thomas’ performance in the movie Narivetta through a social media post.
The complaint was lodged at the Infopark Police Station in Kochi. Vipin Kumar also reported the matter to the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). According to his statement, Unni became angry about the social media praise and later assaulted him. Vipin received medical treatment after the incident and then approached the police.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Unni Mukundan has faced legal issues. In 2018, a case of alleged harassment was filed against him, which was later dismissed.
For those unaware, Narivetta is a Malayalam action drama based on real-life events — specifically, the 2003 Muthanga tribal protest. Directed by Anuraj Manohar and written by Abin Joseph, the film stars Tovino Thomas in the lead and was released on May 23, 2025. It has received good reviews, especially for Tovino’s strong performance.
