Actress Vidya Balan has been roped in to play the role of NTR’s wife Basavatarakam, in NTR biopic while Balakrishna is essaying his father NT Rama Rao’s role. The film helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi is being filmed in Hyderabad. Vidya who for the first time having a full-fledged role in the South says, “I am very excited to be part of NTR biopic. I have never delivered dialogues in another language apart from Hindi. Earlier, I did special appearances for one-two scenes in Malayalam films but, in this film, I have a full-fledged role.”
Our high placed sources say that Vidya has been paid a whopping amount of Rs 1.5 crore as the remuneration. No doubt as the actress commands that stature.
Vidya also dubs the shoot as a “unique experience”. “We start shooting sharp at 9 in the morning and finish sharp at 6 PM, which is really a unique experience for me,” she adds. The film boasts of stellar star cats with the likes of Prakash Raj, Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet and Murali Sharma. The film co-produced by Vishnu Induri and Sai Korrapati is scheduled for release next year.
