Vishwaksen to remake Jr NTR’s disaster film

jrNtr and Viswaksen Vishwaksen

Vishwaksen is a promising young actor in the Telugu film industry known for his multifaceted talents. His upcoming film Gangs of Godavari, directed by Chaitanya Krishna, is set to release on the 31st of this month after a long delay. Ahead of the release, the actor is busy with film’s promotions. Recently, during the promotions for this film, Vishwaksen revealed a surprising wish that has sparked a lot of discussions.
He expressed his desire to remake Na Alludu, a film by Jr NTR that was not successful. Vishwaksen has always been a fan of Jr NTR, which he has admitted on various occasions. When asked which of Jr NTR’s films he would like to remake, he chose Na Alludu, despite its poor reception.
“Na Alludu,” directed by Vara Mullapudi and written by Vijayendra Prasad, featured a star-studded cast including Ramya Krishna, Shriya Saran, and Genelia. Despite the grand launch, the film failed due to weak writing and poor execution. Originally intended to compensate for the distributor losses of “Andhrawala,” it ended up being an even bigger disaster.
The film was heavily criticized for its outdated and offensive storyline, crass humor, and vulgar scenes. Even in 2004, it was poorly received, and it would likely be outrightly rejected by today’s audiences. Aside from its music, Na Alludu left little to remember. Even Jr NTR would probably prefer to forget this film.
Even many of Vishwaksen’s supporters advise him to steer clear of such problematic scripts. They worry that attempting to remake a notorious flop could harm his career. Nonetheless, Vishwaksen seems to have a different perspective. Vishwaksen believes that with a revised script, he could transform “Na Alludu” into a successful project. As both a writer and director, he thinks he can bring new and innovative ideas to the table. Despite the film’s original failures, Vishwaksen feels that he could turn it around with the right approach.
Whether Vishwaksen will actually pursue this project remains uncertain. At this point, it’s merely a wish and not a confirmed plan. However, his confidence in reworking the script and his admiration for Jr NTR may drive him to take on the challenge. Only time will tell if Vishwaksen will add this ambitious remake to his lineup of projects.
